It was one of those foundational “when I have kids I will never..” statements I made with my girlfriends while sipping cocktails in the bar of our fav restaurant while looking down at the pit of craziness know as the “family friendly section” of the restaurant. Well as you probably already know from reading this Blog - the nevers mostly turn into “I hope I won’t’s” or “I rarely do” and NEVER is a pretty big word! -BUT- Now I CAN say NEVER to ”lick the finger to clean the face” - all thanks to Mom Spit. Yep, you read right. This little miracle in a bottle is my savior from sticky jelly faces. I actually wrote this post from 30k feet up on our way to FL to see Grandma and Grandpa. The seatbelt light is on and my cherub (though now sleeping) finished a sticky donut (no comments on the nutritional choice - we are travelling The bottle comes in a small size so you can carry it on the plane and the shape is easy to find in the diaper bag. To find your own little miracle bottle you can visit their site www.momspit.com for locations or go to www.NannyDeprived.com! Thank you Kim Dixon and Lucie Hunter for inventing SUCH A GREAT NECCESSITY! TTYL Erin - Chief Momma
Chief Momma goes on VacationPosted: March 13, 2008 at 4:36 pm | byFiled under: Adventures in Mommahood Ahh..the beach. There is nothin’ like a nice stroll along the water or the sea wall. March in Florida is maybe the definition of heaven! Briggs and I are lucky enough to get to spend a few weeks down here with Grandma and Grandpa. Dad will join us in a bit. Our trip here was pretty uneventful. B and I have been fortunate to clock lots of hours in the air. To make the day a success always takes a certain amount of planning, a chill attitude and a whole lots of “THANK YOU”’s to all those that invariably help us along the way! We started the adventure at 3am to make our 6am flight from Seattle to Dallas. While I don’t love getting up THAT early it’s an easy time to fly because B sleeps! We traded our prime seat up front for two towards the back. We have definitely learned that airlines will do almost anything they can to accommodate kids. It makes for a more enjoyable flight for EVERYONE! I got up, showered, put makeup on and did my hair. As I walked through the airport with a backpack on, diaper bag slung across the stroller, dragging the car seat behind me..and pushing B in his stroller.. I wondered why I went through all the trouble. My once smooth hair had sprung hairlets and my makeup was already looking in need of some serious refreshment! I had officially become a Sherpa and people were starting to stare. But the trip was uneventful and we got here safe and sound! B LOVES the sand and surf and we have been having a blast watching him discover new things each day. For those of you reading this and wondering when the heck I am going to send out the pacis you order - do not fear! All orders are being fulfilled as usual - thanks to my fearless band of assistants back home - so keep em’ comin! TTYL! See, Sean, B and I live 3,000 miles away from our family and we actually really like them…so…they come west a lot. That is what I have been up to these last few weeks - thus the cyber silence from me. Anyway, visits have always been easy and relaxed..trips to the zoo, or to the mall..just hanging out..that has always been our schedule. NOW IT HAS ALL CHANGED! My poor in laws have been put to WORK! It started when Grandma Lace (My fav Aunt Alice & Inspector #9)came out and I had her count inventory and pack boxes. Then Grandma Elaine (Inspector #11) came and I had her inspecting each pacifier for quality control. Sure it was fun for them to see how the business has been going but I have to admit that I think they got more than they bargained for SO THANK YOU! - for loving on Briggs the way you do and for how you help in every way you can..even if that means packing boxes!
